Hsinchu, December 02, 2025 - For the second year running WNC is pleased to announce it has been listed in the World's Best Companies in Sustainable Growth, presented by Time Magazine and Statista, a global data and business intelligence platform. This achievement recognizes WNC's strong financial performance, with over US$3 billion in revenue for the second consecutive year, as well as the company's clear pathway towards low-carbon transition.
The evaluation criteria for this award centers on revenue growth, financial robustness and environmental impact. Only companies with transparent disclosure of sustainability data are eligible for consideration. Each company's revenue growth from 2022 to 2024 was benchmarked against its industry average. In addition, financial performance over the past five years was analyzed to assess long-term financial health and resilience amid politico-economic uncertainties. On the environmental front, companies are gauged on 2023 carbon emissions data across all scopes, green energy usage, and management of waste and water resources.
WNC's science-based targets have been validated by SBTi, and the company has committed to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. It has implemented energy-saving measures for production processes, lighting, ventilation, air conditioning and air compression systems. In 2024 alone, these efforts led to an absolute reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions of over 13%, and in Scope 3 emissions of 5.78%, surpassing the company's annual targets. WNC has also joined RE100 and is committed to achieving 100% renewable energy use by 2040. The company is steadily increasing the share of renewable energy in its electricity mix by installing solar panels and purchasing international renewable energy certificates. In 2024, renewable energy in use reached 21%. Moving forward, we will continue improving energy efficiency, explore the feasibility of signing power purchase agreements and incorporating energy-related performance into compensation structures.
Additionally, WNC has made substantial progress in waste and water resource management. In 2024, WNC formulated a Water Resource Management Policy. The same year, water withdrawal intensity decreased by 32.27% compared to 2020, and the waste recycling rate reached 88.75%. WNC's Vietnam and S3 sites have implemented the UL 2799 Zero Waste to Landfill validation program and obtained a platinum rating, in recognition of the company's efforts to increase waste conversion rates, reduce resource loss, and lower waste disposal costs. Moreover, the company received Leadership ratings in CDP's climate change, water security, as well as supplier engagement assessments.
To work with our value chain partners in reducing carbon emissions, WNC has established a raw material carbon footprint database. This has significantly reduced the time and manpower required to calculate product carbon footprints. The company has also introduced internal carbon pricing and is developing a product life cycle assessment framework. These initiatives align with WNC's net-zero transition, and help the company expedite the adoption of green design principles and energy-saving product development. WNC's Chief Sustainability Officer, Molly Lin, said, "We leverage systematic innovation to drive green design and low-carbon transitions while building a resilient and competitive operating model supported by smart data and forward-looking governance. Sustainability has become a key growth driver for WNC. Therefore, we will continue to work with partners worldwide to deliver long-term positive impacts for businesses, society and the environment."
